So far our campaign has raised $225! We are off to a great start however I know that we can do better. Do me a favor, close your eyes and imagine that Gabe was YOUR child. Nobody wants to think this could happen to their child but Kim knows all to well that it can. Please don’t just share this video without making a donation. No amount is too small when it comes to saving lives and improving the lives of families!

The woman in the video is Kim Jacobs, a mom of 5 and one of my best friends. Six months ago, her 12 year old son died of sudden cardiac arrest. He was healthy. He played sports and had a physical every year.  On April9, 2015, he was playing basketball with his dad and 3 brothers when he collapsed. He was gone without anyone being able to say goodbye.

We know now that an ultrasound of the heart  could have saved Gabe. An ultrasound can detect heart defects that you don’t even know about. Kim wants to get the word out so that YOU can get your child’s heart checked. In honor of Gabe’s life, she created Gabe’s Heart Foundation (www.gabesheart.org) in order to keep his heart beating through others. We need your help to raise funds to put on a 5k Walk/Run on 11/21/15 a Random Acts of Kindness Week, and to support ultrasound testing of youth playing sports. Your support will also go to helping us give food to local women and children’s shelters, sponsoring anti bullying workshops and making awards to other children who have a big heart (like Gabe) and help others.

At 5’10, Gabe helped kids who were bullied, befriended special needs children, and fed hungry children out of his own pocket. We need YOU to help Kim and her family keep Gabe’s legacy alive. Kim can’t help Gabe but you can help Kim save a child.
