Gabriel Michael Jacobs had one of the biggest, nicest, most compassionate hearts that anyone could have. He was 12 years old and literally a gentle giant. He was 5’10 tall and everyone looked up to him. Gabe used his height and size to help protect those that he thought were being bullied here at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School and anywhere else. He would help merge the relationships so that they would become friends.

Gabe was known as “Guardian Gabe” by his friends. Gabe made everyone feel like they were his best friend. He made everyone feel special and made them feel like they were someone important. Gabe never wanted anyone to be left out. He would always bring extra snacks and lunch money to give to someone else. He would also pay for others to go on field trips. Gabe would feed the homeless with his family and would pray for children in the hospital and at church. Gabe wasn’t only a giant and a star football athlete, he was also an honor student every year in school.

He received the A/B Honor roll and  “Most Caring” award his 6th grade year here at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School. Gabe was a loving person that wanted to help everyone in the world to be better. Gabe came from Mallard Creek Elementary School and he impacted the children and the staff there in such a tremendous way that they did a documentary about Gabe. The principal said “I want all of my staff to treat children the way Gabe treats children at our school”. He was a true example of how everyone should be kind to another human. He treated everyone the way he wanted to be treated. Gabe was only at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School for 1 year, but he changed so many lives forever.

He was 12 years old when he passed away suddenly due to a heart defect. Gabe wouldn’t want you to be sad, he would want you to keep his memory alive by being EXTREMELY NICE to everyone you encounter. So…let’s make Random Act of Kindness Week a week to remember in honor of “Guardian Gabe”.
