Gabe Heart Foundation (www.gabesheartfoundation.org) Gabe’s Heart Foundation was created in honor of a 12 year old young man named Gabriel Michael Jacobs. He passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2015.  He was known for his BIG HEART!  He gave unselfishly to help anyone in need. He made everyone feel like they were someone special.

The devastation of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have impacted so many people throughout the Houston metro area and Florida.

As we watched the news in horror and dismay, we saw with our own eyes the destruction of homes and even the loss of lives. Gabe’s Heart Foundation is not immune to loss and we want to lend a helping hand, where possible, to Do It Gabe’s Way. We have been flooded with calls about families in need  and how people can partner to make a difference directly in the lives of those affected.
We have targeted 3 families, 2 impacted by Harvey and 1 by Irma, to extend our influence and reach to try to serve as the bridge over very uncertain and troubled waters.
The DeBlancs, from Katy, Texas, lost everything. Because hey didn’t live in a designated flood zone area, they did not have flood insurance.  There home was deemed uninhabitable and their road to recovery is almost unimaginable. They need every ounce of help one could imagine.

There is also an elderly couple from Houston who lost their home of 25 years. In their mid-70’s, they never imagined that they would be rebuilding their lives and their home. All of their memories of their children and grandchildren are gone. It is uncertain if they had insurance and if so, when and what it will cover. Their adult children have no resources to help their parents through this unforeseen tragedy and are  desperate to find assistance for their parents.

Wadia Harvey loaded up her truck with her 5 children and sought refuge from Irma with strangers in Greensboro, NC. The single mom headed back to Florida unsure of what would meet her. Her children are in need of beds and any gift cards that can be obtained to national chain stores where she can purchase replacement items.
Anything that you can provide as a donation will be divided among these families as an effort to restore and renew their lives. If Gabe were alive, I am sure he would rally every child on his football team, in his classes and even in the streets!
I am asking you to do the work on Gabe’s behalf and let’s alleviate the pressure that these families are under. They will receive 100% of the proceeds and this will be our largest Random Act of Kindness!
Can we count on you to do it Gabe’s Way?
